We’re going to the beach beach beach

2 sundays ago (yes, I know I am very much behind on blogging) I brought Sophia to Sentosa alone and it was such a great trip! The moment I suggested beach, she grabbed her bucket of tools and dashed for the door. Throughout the entire journey there she carried the bucket on her own and made no fuss about walking the long distance. I even overhead a girl, asking her parents in Cantonese why Sophia gets to bring her beach toys and the dad saying ” 佢肯自己拿,你要Daddy Mummy帮你拿” (She’s willing to carry it herself but you want Daddy and Mummy to carry it for you.) Of course, I was secretly swelling up in pride but pretended not to understand.

Anyway, we had tonnes of fun at the beach, Sophia even joined a family and their maids and loaned her bucket to a group of very well behaved older girls who washed the bucket very clean in sea water before returning it with a genuine thank you. And didn’t make a fuss when it was time to go home.

I think I can manage it again. Maybe.

  1. Dear Elaine,

By pledging your blog to SMP, you are affirming that every memory matters. Whether your posts are an account of your daily life, or an expression of your thoughts, the SMP hopes to find a home for your memories so that it can help build towards an understanding of Singapore. You will also receive a badge that you can display on your blog in recognition of your contributions.

Contributors to this blog pledging initiative will be listed on Singapore Memory portal’s blog pledging webpage. All blogs pledged to SMP will archived using NLB’s web harvesting software, in addition to images of each blog’s landing page.
